In today's Final, the District 5 champions, the Windsor South Canadians defeated the District 6 Champions and host team, the South Ottawa Blues 12-4 earning them the right to represent Ontario at the Little League Canadian Junior Championship in Langley, British Columbia. The Windsor players and coaches leave early tomorrow flying directly to Vancouver from Ottawa.

There will be a second and final game tomorrow at 12:00pm at Ron Milks Diamond between these two teams. The winner of this final game will leave, the following morning for the Little League Canadian Junior Championship in Langley, British Columbia as Ontario's representative.

On Day 6 of the Tournament the Ron Milks Diamond once again showed it's resiliency to wet weather. After a series of morning showers which ended around noon, the diamond and field were ready some 50 minutes later to allow the boys of summer to play their game.
In today's game the East Nepean Eagles were meeting the Windsor South Canadians for the right to advance to play the South Ottawa Blues in Monday's Final format.
The Windsor South Canadians prevailed in a real exciting game with a score of 12-8. We now say goodbye East Nepean Eagles who valiantly fought back from an opening day loss to win their next three games.
The Windsor South Canadians, the District 5 champions, will now be back on the diamond, tomorrow, Monday, August 3, 2009 at 12:00pm to battle it out with the South Ottawa Blues, the District 6 champions and host team.
In the Final format, the South Ottawa Blues being undefeated need to win one game to advance as Ontario's representative at the Little League Canadian Junior Championship in Langley, British Columbia. The Windsor South Canadians would need to win two games for that right.

In today's game the the East Nepean Eagles were victorious 8-1 against the Fort William Canadian and American team.
We bid farewell to Fort William who travelled the longest distance to come to this little league tournament. We hope they leave with fond memories of the tournament and Ottawa.
The East Nepean Eagles will now be back on the diamond, tomorrow, Sunday at 12:00pm to battle it out with the Windsor South Canadians.
The winner of this game will earn the right to access the final format on Monday, August 3, 2009 at 12:00pm against the District 6 champions and host team the South Ottawa Blues who have already won a berth in the final with their perfect record. The Blues players, coaches and fans will surely be watching the outcome of Sunday's game which will decide who their opponents will be to win the right to travel, as Ontario's representatives, to Langley, British Columbia for the Canadian Junior Little League Championship.
This morning the East Nepean Eagles defeated the Cornwall River Rats 9-8 in a real barn burner of a game. This means that sadly we say goodbye to the Cornwall River Rats, while the Eagles go on to play again tomorrow, Saturday, at 12:00 PM against Fort William.
In the afternoon game, the battle of the undefeated teams, saw the Windsor South Canadians battle the host team and District 6 champions the South Ottawa Blues. The Blues prevailed 9-3 and with a perfect record now advance to the potential final on Monday August 3rd at 12:00 PM.
The Windsor South Canadians will play on Sunday against the winners of the Saturday game between Nepean and Fort William.

Day 3 of the tournament is now completed. A super day; no rain to report! While the Senior tournament has started play in Orleans the action at the Junior Tournament at Ron Milks diamond is still fast and furious. This morning the East Nepean Eagles defeated Pembroke by a score of 15-5. In the afternoon game Fort William National and American defeated the Oakville Whitecaps by a score of 15-4.
Sadly, we have had to say goodbye to the Pembroke and Oakville teams who were great representatives of their community displaying great sportmanship throughout the tournament. Tomorrow, Friday several local teams are again in the mix.
At 11:00 AM we will see the East Nepean Eagles playing the Cornwall River Rats.
At 3:00 PM will be a battle of undefeated teams - the Windsor South Canadians will take on the South Ottawa Blues.
The rain and lightning stopped play for awhile but did not dampen the spirit of the players, coaches and organizers. The field has held up really well to the downpour of rain.
This morning South Ottawa Blues defeated Cornwall River Rats and this afternoon/evening the Windsor South Canadians defeated the Oakville Whitecaps.
The game between the East Nepean Eagles and Pembroke to have been played this evening will go tomorrow (Thursday) at 11:00am. The 2:00pm game will see Fort William opposed to the Oakville Whitecaps.
The 5:00pm game will see the winner between East Nepean Eagles and Pembroke take on Cornwall.
Day 1 of the 2009 Little League Ontario Junior Provincial Championship Tournament is now complete and what a success. No rain! The volounteers who had worked hard at preparing the field were rewarded by the best of compliments. Players and coaches were impressed praising the condition of the field as being the best many had played on this season.
Opening Ceremonies began with all teams parading unto the field; Jim Dean, President of Little League Ontario and District 2 Administrator in addition to Bill Magnus, Vice-President of Little League Ontario and District 6 Administrator addressed the participants, parents and volounteers. Jim Dean introduced the tournament's special guests and called upon one of them, Maria McRae, Councillor for River Ward to throw the first pitch. Maria welcomed all to our City, and addressed the role of volounteers thanking them for their dedication, after which she threw a perfect fastball for a called strike. The Little League Pledge was then read and the baseball tournament was underway.
Game #1 pitted Fort William Nationals/Americans representing District 3 and the host team and District 6 Champions the South Ottawa Blues. The South Ottawa Blues prevailed 4 to 3. The winning pitcher was Alex Puchala.
Game #2 saw the District 5 Representatives the Windsor South Canadians defeat the District 2 champions the East Nepean Eagles 25 to 12. The winning Pitcher was Connor Mailloux.
Game #3 the District 1 champions, the Oakville Whitecaps defeated the District 8 champions, Pembroke 13-3.
